1. Always be thinking of First Impressions

Even before a viewing appointment is set or any interest in a property is expressed, it’s not unusual for potential buyers to drive or walk around a neighbourhood to get a feel for the area. The outside of the property needs to be inviting as first impressions are made in a split second, more so if there is anything negative as that will affect the mindset of the buyers.

Before a home is advertised for sale, get the garden presentable. Clean the driveway, remove any weeds, give the fence a fresh coat of paint then then turn your attention to how your home looks beyond the garden. Wash the windows including the frames and doors and for the staging part, place a potted plant or two on the doorstep. Think about polishing up the brass letterbox and perhaps install a new house number plaque or name plaque so the property is easy for potential buyers to find.

 

2. Neutralise the Colour Schemes in all your Rooms

Neutral colours are appealing to both sexes but there is another reason that make light beiges, magnolia or a taupe shade of paint the go-to colours for home staging and that is because they can make rooms feel larger than they are. Light colours add an air of elegance to rooms. Add light into rooms and emphasise it with mirrors and you can completely transform the feel of a room.
