THE MULTIPLE NEEDS SELF-STORAGE CONTAINERS MEET

Chances are, when you think of storage units, top of mind will be using them to store personal belongings between selling your home and moving to your new home. There can be a substantial time lapse between selling and moving and it’s certainly one of the most common reasons for renting a storage unit.

There are quite a few other reasons though, all of them requiring short-term options with the possibilities to extend the rental period without penalties or a huge upfront deposit.

REASONS TO RENT A SELF-STORAGE UNIT

  • STORING STUDENT BELONGINGS DURING A GAP YEAR

After graduation, some students would rather do some exploring to different parts of the world to experience various cultures and do some exploration before settling down into a career job. Disappearing from the country for a year (or more) doesn’t necessarily mean you need to sell all your belongings leaving only enough personal items to fit in a backpack to take with you. Personal belongings like TVs, beds, sofas, games consoles and anything else that’s been collected over the years that you know you’ll want when you come back from a gap year can be stored in a storage container year-round and be ready to move into your new place when you get back.

  • BUSINESS PURPOSES

Online retailers with inventory need safe and secure storage, however, so do many other business owners away from the online retail space such as eBayers and other businesses buying wholesale to store pallets of goods to sell as individual items.

Smaller businesses need storage just the same, some temporarily, others year-round such as artists with portfolios who tour the country showing their work off at trade fairs and exhibitions. All those precious items that need to be stored in a climate-controlled environment can get the exact storage needs met using climate-controlled storage units, which may also translate to lower insurance premiums on the items insured.

  • RENOVATING YOUR PROPERTY

When larger home renovations are being done, such as having a conservatory installed, home extension, loft conversion or knocking down walls for an open plan layout, there’s going to be dust galore and a high chance for furniture and electrical items to get damaged during the renovation. Dust covers can stop paint splashes ruining your items but they can’t protect against bumps and bashes. If there’s going to be a lot of work and moving parts going through a room in your home, it can be a safer option to pack your valuables and ship them off to a nearby storage unit until the work’s completed.

  • SUMMER STORAGE FOR STUDENTS

For students studying away from home living in a leased apartment, when the break rolls around, items are packed, keys returned and provided the flat or room is left the way you moved into it, the deposit is returned. If you’re returning after the summer, there’s no need to ship your bed, TV, PC, and all your other belongings back home to your parent’s place. A less stressful solution is to use a nearby storage facility to store your items securely until you return to study after the break.

In the future our Storage containers will be available in different sizes, with some having climate-control. Right now we have fully fitted ventilators to help with climate control. The size and type of container that’s most suited is best decided based on the purposes you’re renting your storage unit.
